I've purchased a number of rings and bracelets from here and they are all gorgeous! The quality is excellent, I love the sterling silver because I don't have to worry about taking anything off when washing my hands! The service was lovely too!
About Your Purchase
Sterling Silver Jewellery Care
- Keep them away from moisture, perfumes, lotions, cleaning products, hair products and chlorinated water. Especially with stoned jewellery, these chemicals might make the stones dull.
- Wipe them dry thoroughly if they get wet.
- Sterling silver is quite soft. Consider taking them off when doing strenuous activities, heavy lifting or tasks that may cause scratches and damages.
- Polish them regularly with a silver polishing cloth to maintain their shines.
- When not worn, store them in an airtight bag or anti-tarnish pouch.
Sterling Silver
925 Sterling Silver composes of 92.5% pure silver and the remaining is other metals (such as copper). The added metal makes Sterling Silver stronger and more durable than pure silver. Our jewellery is all lead, cadmium and nickel free.
Gold Plated Pieces
Our gold pieces are plated with 24k gold. Most of our gold pieces are flash gold-plated (0.05 microns), except rings are 0.25 microns or more. As they flash gold-plated (hence the affordable price), they need extra care to maximise their colour. Avoid contact with perfume, water, chlorine, etc. to slow down the colour fading process. Additionally, please be aware that the areas that are exposed to more frictions (especially rings) tend to fade quicker and they will gradually fade back to silver. As each person cares for their jewellery differently, we do not offer guarantee on the gold colour lasting.
Silver coating and Rhodium coating
Silver coating
Unless otherwise specified, most of our silver pieces are coated with a 2 micron thick of pure Silver on top of Sterling silver, plus an E-coat layer (an ultra-fine layer of organic lacquer) that helps improving their water and tarnish resistance. This gives the pieces an extra layer of white and bright shine. However, pure silver is prone to tarnishing when exposed to air, moisture and skin oils. Therefore, they require regular cleaning to maintain their shine. Use a silver polishing cloth to wipe the tarnish away. If the tarnish is left to build up over time, you might need to get your jewellery professionally cleaned.
Rhodium coating
Rhodium delivers unmatched durability and brilliant brightness, naturally boosting the aesthetics and longevity of any metal jewellery. Rhodium is slightly darker than silver and brings out the strikingly bright colours of opals, crystals or cubic zirconia stones. Though higher in cost, Rhodium is highly resistant to scratches and tarnish, making. Hence, minimal maintenance is required.
You can read more about each coating here.
Hypoallergenic
Generally, Sterling Silver is hypoallergenic due to the high silver content. However, some people might still have reactions to Sterling Silver if they have severe metal allergies.
Sterling Silver Delicacy
Due to high silver content, Sterling Silver is quite delicate. So don’t panic if you see your jewellery warped slightly (especially at the posts). You can use your fingers and gently reshape it.
